24 Hours in London: An Unforgettable Experience

Our first 24 hours in London were so amazing. We started out the day by touring the city with our awesome tour guide, enjoying the historic buildings like Westminster Abbey, “Big Ben” ( The Elizabeth Tower), and Trafalgar Square, and ending the tour off at Borough Market getting insight as to what they’re used for and what is important about them. We ended the day by watching a play called  “The Mousetrap,” the world’s longest-running play. I wish I could tell you more, but I don’t want to spoil it for you. No, really, I was sworn to secrecy not to tell you who did what. After the play, we wrapped up the night with some pizza at a cozy Italian spot. My friends and I sat, ate, and started thinking and talking about all the fun we had and excited for what tomorrow would bring.

Westminster Abbey and The Elizabeth Tower

My favorite part of London so far is the beautiful architecture. The city’s buildings are a mix of old and new, each with its own unique story and design. From  Buckingham Palace to the small but amazing details of the Victorian houses, every corner you look at in London offers something beautiful to see. When I’m Walking through the streets to get to the Tube or to the bus, it feels like stepping back in time, with all the historical landmarks and modern structures and how they blend together so well. The architecture of everything truly captures London’s rich history and vibrant culture.

cute little pubs and taverns, and my personal favorite that I found was chipotle.

We visited St. Paul’s Cathedral, an architectural masterpiece with a gorgeous dome and beautiful details. We then headed to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, where we were also stopped by a flyover since it was one of the two birthdays that King Charles had.  It is a highlight for me since I’m totally obsessed with Shakespeare. I was able to stand in the presence of the replica of the original open-air theatre, where many of Shakespeare’s plays were performed, which was an incredible experience. These landmarks’ blend of history and culture greatly influenced my London adventure.

We ended our tour at Borough Market, which offers a bunch of food and culture. The market was filled with different aromas and various delicious foods. After eating local treats and soaking in the atmosphere, we soon went to the theatre to see “The Mousetrap.” Watching the world’s longest-running play was quite the experience, and it was full of suspense and mystery. I won’t spoil the plot for you, especially since I was sworn to secrecy by the cast members, but it was a fantastic way to wrap up our day of touring in London.
